If you’re looking to create change in your life, it can feel overwhelming. We ask ourselves questions like – What do I want? How am I going to get what I want? What if it doesn’t turn out like I want? And so on and so on. All of those questions can keep us stuck. So, forget all that! Instead, take just one action, and it’ll start the ball rolling. (Or for those who live in the colder climates, it’ll start the snowball rolling down the hill.)
Articulate – with the best clarity you have – what you want, even if you’re not 100% sure. Give it your best thoughtful response. Then, pick just one action you can take to move toward that. Here are some ideas:
- Share your interest with a supportive family member or friend
- Interview someone who has a similar interest or already has a career (or life situation) in that area
- Take an hour a week to learn more about it through online research and social media
- Volunteer in that area
- Sign up for a one-time class
It’s easy to let the planning, process and unknowns keep you from taking action. But JUST ONE action can lead to the next action and more clarity. That friend you talked to may know someone in the industry. That blog you started following may announce a free event to attend.
If you’re feeling stuck or you’re just surviving, I implore you to take ONE ACTION this week to move yourself forward.
Please share with me what you did and how it got the (snow)ball rolling!
